Weak drinks. I asked for mine to be stronger, but they weren't. Watched the bartender make my last drink (rum and diet). She hit the soda gun right away so barely got one pour from the rum bottle before the glass was full. Ordered chips and salsa...salsa was clearly from a jar and the cheese sauce was barely luke warm. Atmosphere was laid back, though, and good tunes were playing.

Was there watching the Kentucky - Notre Dame game, after it was over the first song the DJ played was Come Original by 311! That will ALWAYS get 5's in my book. #excitableone

GO TO RBI!!!! Seriously, Bos has wayyyyy more angry former female staff members than any bar owner I've ever even heard of. The place has gotten really scummy anyways.

Unfortunately we went there on New Year's Eve this year. Trashy people everywhere, wangsters doing drugs in the bathroom and the cops called multiple times. That was the last time we went for a late night. I will say we have been there for football games and we have had no issues with sketchy people. I'm a capable guy and I wasn't comfortable being there on New Years Eve which sucks because it never used to be that way at this place.

I have been to this bar a few times. I have found the fried food to be good, but I had a beef sandwich that had no flavor and did not have very much meat. The au jus was unseasoned and watery. I tried the chicken quesadilla and was not seasoned either. Fried food is actually better than expected. Good wings, cheese sticks, and dough balls. The wing sauces are decent as well, however, if you want to try two different sauces, you have to have two orders. They would not split an order wings into different flavors for me. The beer selection is not huge, but unique! I have always found a beer that I haven't tried before in the three times I have visited. Good for watching a game or multiple games. This is good for what it is. A sports bar with bar food. I will return and hope to find something I like that is not fried!

We headed to Second Cousins because we liked the place. Their sign outside read "Half Off Burgers" When ordering the server said "Oh, we haven't changed the sign, that was yesterday" My friend and I order bugers anyway, cooked medium. They were well done, we told our server the mistake, she went to tell the manager. She can back and told us, quote " The manager is not in a position to do anything about it" Really! Not even offer to remake them. We didn't finish our lunch, paid the bill and left. We will not being going back.

I'm part of a big family and there are a lot of kids and kid's kids; lots of uncles, aunts, and cousins. In these larger families, sometimes you run into some extra-weird family members. Ya know how sometimes you have a weird second cousin who's into some kinda weird scummy shit, kinda bad in social settings, but (s)he's family so you just sort of avoid them without being too outspoken about it? Yeah. Imagine if that person somehow turned into a sports bar. There ya go. The food is, I dunno...it's ok, I guess. It's bar food. Whatever. ...but that service, man. Garbage. The entire staff is dead-eyed and look like every molecule of them is stewing, waiting for that closing bell. The smiles are disingenuous, the "thanks darling"s are saccharine and sound like something you'd hear in a diner at 3:30 AM in North Las Vegas. Most of Rockford is like that, but in a dark, quasi-industrial looking bar, it seems more potent. It broke my spirit. ...and they forgot my garlic bread.

This is my boyfriend's home away from home. That being said, it's a decent bar. I haven't tried the food so I can't comment on it, but the alcohol selection is good. Nothing out of this world, but what you would expect at any decent bar. There's big screen TVs all around, the atmosphere seems friendly and the waitresses and bartenders provide great service. I'd go back again. It's nothing major to write home about, but it's still an awesome place to stop by when you want a drink!

Second Cousin's is one of the better sports bars in town. It has a varied beer collection, including some phine microbrews on tap. This is one of the phew bars to always have an IPA on tap. They also change periodically I've learned to always ask"What's new on tap?" Though the menu looks like typical pub phood, the phood is dephinitely above par. Of the appetizers, the Spinach Artichoke dip is the cheesiest (in a good way) I've had. My lovely wyphe is especially phond of the wings. The chicken quesadilla is also a phavorite, Of the main dishes, the burgers are especially good as well as the reuben. I didn't care phor their pizza but it seemed popular with others. For a lighter phare, the Blue Cheese Steak Salad is darn good, only second to that from Lone Star (which uses a better cut). And if you like games, they have the usual pool and darts, but they are also one of the rare places you can play pinball. Always be sure to check the specials especially the days that have 1/2-price burgers and reubens as well as the phish phry on Phridays.

After going here a few times I feel legit enough to write a review. Great place to watch a game, if its not on ask for it, they'll put it on for you. Bonus. Secondly, I think this place has the best wings ever. Hands down. Third, play your cards right, they also have great specials. We were in there on a Friday night, we got a walleye dinner for $5.99. The food is priced right, so you can drink more. And its all been good. So why the 4 stars?? Well be prepared, if you sit at the bar, you're fine for service. Get a table and the service can be very slow. Both nights we got a table, the service was crazy slow, not so much the last time but at least we knew we were in for a wait.

I made an unexpected stop at this bar while I was looking for a restaurant in Rockford and found this place. The name is kind of a turn off, it makes me think of a bar full of rednecks and dart boards were everybody is huddled around the bar drinking Coors Light and watching Nascar. Yet inside it's modeled pretty nice, and the servers all seemed friendly and even willing to give their opinions on what they have good there. I narrowed my choices between the chicken marsala or salmon, and my server stated that even though they are both good she suggested the chicken marsala and I ended up getting that with rice. I waited about 15-20 minutes then my food came and the only thing was I wished that I hadn't got it with mushrooms, (I forgot to tell them not to put mushrooms) but the chicken was good overall, along with the rice, and just had to work around the mushrooms. For dessert I had the peanut butter ice cream cake, and had to wait for it to thaw out so it could soften a little so I could chew it and taste the flavor in my mouth. I ended up liking and finishing the dessert, besides the fact that it was still mostly frozen during the whole time I was eating it. I like that this place is in a convenient location, right on Riverside blvd, which is a main road in Rockford and easy to find. I'm guessing if I go out by the Rockford area again I more then likely will come here again to try something else.

Cool place to watch a game. They were I'll prepared for a Saturday afternoon rush though with only one waitress! They need to check when there is a soccer tourney in town. 10 beers on tap - nothing exotic. And no Goose Island?! Taco salad was good but there was about a pound of hamburger in it.

honestly, i've just been here for beer. it's a bar. it's a grill. but mostly it's a bar. why do i go? the beer selection? the food? . . well i haven't had the food. the beer selection is nothing spectacular, it's normal bar selection. I go because it's close and the waitresses are cute. yes, shallow, i know. but hate on. this is a fun bar to go to, the crowd is young and it's hit or miss on weekends. the bar scene is odd in rockford right now but everytime i've been here i've had a good time. definitely hit this spot up.
